Alicia is a globetrotter who’s always bursting of wanderlust. She has hiked the jungles of Cambodia, workationed for months in a small village in southern India and in the Dominican Republic, stayed in a Masai camp in Kenya, kayaked in Vietnam’s Halong Bay... Together with her in-house second shooter (and noise cancellation headphones + big bag of snacks for those long red eye flights) she has also travelled to some of the most beautiful places across the globe to capture her client’s celebrations. From South Africa to India, from Italy to Brazil - no location is to remote, or flight to long. As a curious explorer and experienced destination wedding photographer she always does extensive research and works hands-on with the itinerary with the wedding planner and couple in advance. She arrives with her second shooter at least a day in advance of the celebrations, not only to compensate for any delayed flights but also to scout all the locations and give both photographers a chance to familiarize themselves with the area and its natural light. She really took the time to get to know us before the big day, which provided a big level of comfort on our wedding. It's easy to feel overlooked by vendors in the mayhem of planning a wedding in NYC, and Alicia does exactly the opposite - making us feel like the only people that mattered.
From our engagement shoot, coaxing us out of our awkwardness, to our wedding day, easing the butterflies in our stomachs with her infectious laugh and positive energy (she exudes it!), she was an integral part of our wedding experience. My husband went from shying away from the camera and city onlookers during our first shoot to legitimately “working it” thanks to her easy instructions, and our pictures looked and felt so natural.
Alicia went above and beyond on providing location consultation and scouting, prop recommendations, outfit tips – she thought of everything I didn’t and was so incredibly helpful and positive. She also stayed completely on top of the special pictures I wanted to capture throughout the night, from wrangling our massive families for group shots, to always managing to appear at the perfect photo opp on the dance floor. She was so present throughout the day and evening, and our pictures reflect that.
